GLENVIEW — No charges have been filed against the Glenview resident who had kept 35 dogs in an unclean state in one house.
Police said Monday that officials are looking into the possibility of criminal charges or code-compliance complaints.
Glenview police have not yet specified the name of the family or the address, though the house is on the 3300 block of Lakewood Court.
On Dec. 7, Glenview officers and the state Department of Children and Family Services visited the house; the report did not specify what brought DCFS to that address, and DCFS officials could not be reached immediately for comment. Inside the house, they found 35 canines of unspecified breeds; the report indicated that “urine, feces, and damage caused by the dogs were evident.”
“The homeowners are currently in the process of cleaning the residence and placing the dogs at various facilities,” police said.
The report did not indicate that any people living in the house had been removed, or what conditions the dogs were in.
Police officers and Glenview Inspectional Services are investigating, police added.
