Glenbrook High students kept inside during off-campus gun search
GLENVIEW — Glenview Police received a report late Friday morning that a weapon may have been seen near West Lake Avenue and Milwaukee Avenue.
As a precaution and to prevent congestion in the area while the report was under investigation, police advised officials at Glenbrook South High School, 4000 W. Lake Ave., to keep students on campus during lunch periods.
“There was no formal order to institute a lockdown, nor was the situation considered to be a danger to the school,” stated a release.
After the initial investigation was completed around 11:30 a.m., students were then advised they would be able to take advantage of open lunch.
The initial report appears to have been unfounded, and police are continuing the investigation.
