1. Block Party at the Pool, 12 p.m. July 13

2. Summer Luau, 1 p.m. July 19
Enjoy a luau-themed pool party with the family. Do the limbo, the dolphin ring toss and learn the Aloha Hop. Hinkley Pool, 25 Busse Highway, Park Ridge.
3. A Sundae in the Park, 12 p.m. July 20
Join the Northbrook Historical Society and the Northbrook Dairy Queen to celebrate their 40th anniversaries in Village Green Park. Entertainment includes Norridge Those Were the Days Radio Players from noon-1 p.m., Northbrook Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet from 1:15 p.m.-2:15 p.m. and Lizzie, a barbershop quartet from the Melodeers Chorus 2:30 p.m.-4 p.m. Dairy Queen ice cream treats are available. 4. JourneyCare’s Barrington Duck Race and Pool Party, 4 p.m. Aug. 9
The Duck Races benefit JourneyCare for Children, the largest pediatric hospice and palliative care program in Illinois. Langendorf Park, 235 Lions Drive, Barrington.
