Pupeteer Susan Witek and her friendly puppets will tell fairy tales and other favorite stories on July 24 as part of the Glenview Park District’s free Little Bearfoot Entertainment Series.

Susan Witek will be telling tales with the aid of her adorable puppets and fellow Damen Avenue Puppeteer Chris Krawczyk, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 24 at the Gallery Park Amphitheatre, 2500 Chestnut Ave., Glenview. The interactive show is part of the Glenview Park District’s free Little Bearfoot Entertainment Series.

“It will start out with Chris doing an introduction with his friend O’Grady,” Witek said. She noted that the lifelike puppet “looks like a short grandfather.” Then the fairy tales will begin.

“We are going to do ‘Three Billy Goats Gruff’ and ‘A Frog and a Toad,’ but I don’t know which Frog and Toad we’re going to do,” the puppeteer reported. “Then, we’re going to blow down the house with ‘The Three Pigs.’”

All of the audience members will participate in a finger play called “Monkeys on the Bed.” One lucky child will be chosen to play the Good Doctor, “the doctor of involuntary veterinary medicine,” Witek said.
