Chicago Artists Coalition’s Starving Artist Benefit pairs art, food, wine

For its 40th anniversary year, the Chicago Artists Coalition paired four artists with four chefs and four mixologists to insure that no one went home either sensory or nourishment-deprived from their second annual Starving Artist Benefit.

Some 300 guests converged on CAC’s funky loft in Chicago on June 21 to witness the fusion of art, food and performance in a multi-sensory atmosphere with provocative installations and edible samplings offered in hanging, rolled out or passed around modes throughout the space. Pioneers in advocacy and professional development, CAC strives to forge a diverse community of artistic leaders by building a sustainable marketplace for entrepreneurial creatives.

The event raised $83,000 in critical funding for CAC’s mission to support artists working in all disciplines.
