Park Ridge resident Pablo Morales has been appointed to the Maine Township High School District 207 Board of Education.

Morales, a member of the District 207 Community Advisory Council for the past two years, was selected by the board on Aug. 24 following closed-door interviews with seven as-yet unnamed candidates. Morales will fill a vacancy created by the resignation of longtime member Eric Leys and will serve until the spring 2015 election.

Morales is senior manager of implementation, products and services for Walgreen Co. based in Deerfield. He holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from North Park University in Chicago and an associate’s degree in accounting. He is a parent of two sons who attend Maine South High School in Park Ridge.

“Pablo brings great experience from the private sector and great community knowledge and commitment to District 207,” said Board President Margaret McGrath in a statement issued by the district.

Morales was expected to be sworn into office at the Sept. 2 board meeting.
