newsmakers Hicks recognized at Loyola Founders’ Dinner

Mary Hicks, a Glenview resident and Boundless Readers’ esteemed executive director was among 14 award recipients recognized at the 11th Annual Loyola University Founders’ Dinner held earlier this summer.
Hicks, who graduated from Loyola’s School of Education in 1999, was recognized as a member of the Loyola community who has used her education for the common good and has accomplished great things in the field of service. She has served as the executive director of Boundless Readers for 10 years. Under her tenure, the organization has provided almost 10,000 hours of professional development programming to over 3,800 Chicago teachers as well as placed over 400,000 new children’s books in Chicago classrooms.
“We are exceptionally proud that Mary’s hard work and dedication to Boundless Readers and education in general, is being formally recognized. It’s an honor to work with her. Boundless Readers has been fortunate to benefit from her dedication,” said John Martin, Boundless Readers’ Board Chair.
