Seventy-five guests attended the Catholic Charities Benefit/Fundraiser, “Sunday in the Park at Ravinia.” The event included a reception and luncheon in a private tent, followed by a 5 p.m. Chicago Symphony “All Tchaikovsky” concert. The highlight was the “1812 Festival Overture” complete with live cannons.
The event raised $12,000, benefiting Catholic Charities’ Food Pantry in their Des Plaines, Illinois office which serves the North Region of Cook County. The Pantry helps the ever-increasing number of people by supplying food to nearly 3,000 people every month, as well as serving 150 hot meals every week.
The chaircouple was Ed and Mary Willer of Wilmette. Advisory Board members attending included Jean Glunz, Virginia and Richard Collins, all of Wilmette, Marge Livingston of Northbrook and Dan and Jean Kotin of Winnetka.
