Glenview is expecting to receive $1.3 million in state funds for resurfacing 10 roads this year.
On Tuesday, village trustees approved a request to the Illinois Department of Transportation for allocating motor fuel tax revenues to the village.
Currently, consumers are taxed 19 cents per gallon and 2.5 cents per gallon on diesel fuel in addition to the 19-cent tax for driving on roads. Counties and townships also receive motor fuel taxes.
Village trustees are scheduled to approve funding Feb. 10. Construction should begin May 1 and end Oct. 5.
The 10 streets set for resurfacing are:
LaFontaine Drive from Robin to Joy lanes
Barry Lane from LaFontaine Drive to South End
Burr Oak Drive from Sunset Ridge to E. Burr Oak drives
Burr Oak Drive east and west from Burr Oak Drive to Mickey Lane
Mickey Lane from Winnetka Road to Burr Oak Drive
Joanne Drive from Pfingsten Road to Michael Lane
Wilmette Avenue from Indian Road to East End
Grove Street from Waukegan Road to Depot Street
Rolling Pass from Glenview Road to Linneman Street
Elm Street from Golf Road to Harrison Street
Glenview is working with Northbrook, Kenilworth and Glencoe in jointly bidding the resurfacing contracts that could lower costs.
If needed, funding also could be used to repair underground utilities, damaged driveways and sidewalks and to replace curbs and gutters.
