The Glenview Optimist Club will hold its fourth annual Friend of Youth Fundraiser to help several community programs.
At 6 p.m. Jan. 28, the White Eagle Banquet Hall, 6839 N. Milwaukee Ave, Niles, will host the benefit.
So far, the club has distributed more than $150,000 this year to local high school seniors with financial hardships.
Some of the club’s core programs include Children’s Cancer Campaign, Student 2 Student, Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook, High School Scholarship Program, Youth Appreciation Awards and Glenview Civic Awards.
The fundraiser will feature cover band The Not for Profit Band, a gourmet dinner, reverse drawing with a grand prize of $2,000, a silent auction, art work and gift certificates from area businesses.
Joe Parrott, event committeeman, said the Glenview Optimist Club was formed in 1961, and it has about 55 members.
“We want to give back to the community,” he said.
