The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Glenview Police Department. Readers are reminded an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
FORGERY
Marlu Lim, 32, of 677 Lyman Ave., Des Plaines, was charged at 3 p.m. Aug. 1 with forgery for an April 12 incident on the 2000 block of Valley Lo Lane. His court date is Sept. 19.
BATTERY
Gina Kosmatka, 20, of 7236 Greenleaf St., Niles, was charged at 11:13 a.m. Aug. 1 with domestic battery and criminal damage for a July 29 incident on the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Her court date is Aug. 13.
BURGLARY
An unlocked vehicle was entered July 23 or July 24 when cash and credit cards were stolen on the 4700 Laurel Avenue. Loss was $70.
An unlocked vehicle was entered July 24 when a GPS unit and radar detector were stolen on the 4700 block of Linden Avenue. Loss was $180.
An unlocked vehicle was entered July 24 or July 25 when various property was stolen on 4700 block of Laurel Avenue. Loss was $30.
THEFT
A resident sent money July 24 to an unknown person posing as a real estate agent out of state. The transaction was fraudulent and loss was $2,100.
Rosetta Perry, 67, of 2630 N. 21st St., and Betty McNeal, 57, of 4702 N. 44th st., both of Milwaukee, were charged at 4:54 July 27 with retail theft on the 190 block of Tower Drive. They were transported July 28 to bond hearing court.
Thomas Sheefer, 45, of 515 Waterbury Court, Roselle, was charged at 10:36 a.m. July 28 with retail theft on the 2900 block of Patriot Boulevard. His court date is Aug. 13.
ALCOHOL
Thomas Cappello, 20, of 6309 N. Oketo Ave., and Nathan Leonard, 19, of 7626 W. Farragut, both of Chicago, were cited at 11:22 p.m. July 24 for minors in possession of alcohol on the 2400 block of Fir Street.
Efren Rojas, 41, of 3142 Thornberry Lane, Glenview, was charged at 8:44 p.m. July 28 with driving under the influence of alcohol and failing to provide information after striking property on the 3200 block of Thornberry Lane. His court date is Aug. 16.
John Dietrich, 50, of 1947 Glen Oak Drive, Glenview, was charged at 11:59 p.m. July 29 with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and failure to signal when required on the 1800 block of East Lake Avenue. His court date is Aug. 13.
DRUGS
Preston Smoot, 19, of 2824 Knollwood Lane, Glenview, was cited at 1:38 a.m. July 25 for possession of drug paraphernalia on the 100 block of Greenwood Road.
Jonathan Grider, 20, of 4300 W. Lake Ave., No. B201, Glenview, was cited at 12:45 a.m. July 30 for possession of drug paraphernalia on the 2600 block of West Lake Avenue.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A rock broke a vehicle’s back window July 25 on the 2800 block of Willow Road. Loss was unknown.
A resident’s mailbox and post were damaged Aug. 26 or Aug. 27 on the 3900 block of Chester Drive. Loss was $150.
A resident’s mailbox and post were damaged Aug. 26 or Aug. 27 on the 4000 block of Chester Drive. Loss was $150.
THEFT
Four tires and rims were stolen July 27 or July 28 in a business lot on the 600 block of Waukegan Road. Loss was $2,600.
A vehicle’s halogen headlights were stolen July 27 or July 28 in a business lot on the 1600 block of Waukegan Road. Loss was $10,000.
Spare tires were stolen between July 16 and July 28 from three vans in a business lot on the 2000 block of Waukegan Road. Loss was $1,200.
