Glenview crews out plowing, village board meeting cancelled
GLENVIEW — Glenview Public Works reported more than 2 inches of snow had fallen by 3 p.m. today and crews were able keep streets cleared with salt.
They were plowing and salting main arterial streets in the morning and repeated the process at 3:30 p.m.
“At this time it appears we will be plowing the side streets between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.,” said Lynne Stiefel, Glenview communications director.
Public works employees worked in two shifts.
Traffic was sparse by mid-day on West Lake Avenue and Willow and Pfingsten roads.
In addition, tonight’s village board meeting will be rescheduled to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Village Hall, 1225 Waukegan Road.
The agenda will be unchanged.
The snowfall will continue at the current rate until 6 p.m, to 8 p.m., Steifel said, with snow showers until noon Wednesday and with 1-2 inches of additional snowfall.
The Public Works crew shift will change at 11 p.m., at which time the village plans to begin sidewalk plowing and residential sections clean-up.
