Grab a favorite photo of your cat or dog and head over to Tipsy Paint, Glenview’s new art studio! Talented artists will help you create your very own PETrait! Bring a bottle of wine or your favorite beverage to enjoy while you paint! The best part: 50 percent of sales that night will go to Northbrook’s Heartland Animal Shelter! When: 7 p.m. Saturday. Tae kwon do
It isn’t just self-defense! This Korean martial arts class teaches confidence, discipline, safety and wellness, and challenges students both physically and mentally. Walk on the prairie
Put on your hiking boots and dress warmly for this adventurous walk. Learn how life on the prairie survives in winter conditions, and take a look at some animal tracks to see what animals walk the prairie. Ages 13 to adult. When: 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday. Indoor farmers market

No school? go swimming!
Put on your swimsuit and head over to Splash Landings on President’s day for special swim hours. Jump in the waterfalls, slide down the tube slide, or freestyle in the lap pool! And guess what? The channel 7 show, “190 North” will be taping a segment from 2-3 p.m.! When: Lap swim hours are 5:30-11 a.m., Family swim hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. Where: 2400 Chestnut Ave. Cost: $6.
Go to the Grand Canyon
Enter into the heart and soul of the Grand Canyon as you listen to adventurer and author, Mike Just tell his collection of short stories, “Canyon Calls.” Just will take you on an incredible journey that includes ghost stories, wild weather, humor, and romance.
