Women’s Hockey: Caldwell game-winner upends ranked rival

Lake Forest College women’s hockey player Jenn Caldwell (Glenview) was named Forester Athlete of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal against No. 7 University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

The junior forward netted her third goal of the year to break a 2-2 tie at 9:57 of the third period. Lake Forest added a score less than two minutes later and held UW-River Falls scoreless the rest of the way to secure the victory.

It was the first career game-winning goal for Caldwell, who has eight points this season and 21 points on six goals and 15 assists in her third year on the team.

The victory gave the Foresters a weekend split with the first-place team in the league. Lake Forest is 10-5-1 overall and second in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association standings with a 9-3-0 record.
