Area names dominate rosters for AHAI’s all-state game

Rosters are set for the Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois’ 2013 Girls All-State game, featuring the Red Team and the White Team.
The Red Team roster was filled almost entirely with players from the Pioneer Press coverage area.
Four forwards on the Fillies girls hockey team — which combines players from Barrington, Lake Zurich, South Elgin, St. Viator, Prospect, Streamwood and Wauconda — were named to the Red Team.
The Red Team selections were South Elgin senior Alexis Boydston (29 goals, 13 assists, 42 points), Barrington freshman Nicole Guagliardo (19 goals, 14 assists, 33 points), Lake Zurich junior Justine Panzeca (nine goals, 18 assists, 27 points) and St. Viator freshman Andrea Renner (25 goals, 16 assists, 41 points). Each player finished the first half of the season (14 games) among the top five in Metro North scoring.
Selected from Loyola were junior forward Erin O’Connor (27 goals, 10 assists, 37 points), senior goalie Clare Kennedy, junior defenseman Maeve O’Brien and freshman forward Elizabeth Wright.
New Trier selections were junior goalie Nicole Diesing, junior defenseman Molly Klare, senior defensemen Lauren Michalec and Natalie Smith, senior forwards Carolyn Hickey and Kathleen Ratty, and sophomore forwards Ivy Dynek and Rebecca Lindblad.
Fenwick selections were sophomore defenseman Maggie Conroy and senior defenseman Jessica Cwik. Selected from Glenbrook were freshman forwards Sarah Fisher and Faith Geraghty.
All-State White Team selections from Lyons Township were sophomore goalie Amanda Dinella, junior defenseman Ellen Chiligiris, freshman forwards Marissa Dunbar and Kathryn Klygis, junior forward Elizabeth Kelly and senior forward Melanie Torres.
Selected from Lake Forest were sophomore goalie Lindsay Projansky, junior defenseman Caroline Knop, senior defenseman Madison Pfalzer, junior forward Anna Bleck and senior forward Bridget Roche. Lake Forest Academy sophomore Carly Thomas also made the White Team roster.
The All-State game will be held at the Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville at 6:40 p.m. Monday. Admission is free.
